Triplets Leave the Cocoon... Just a Little!

We've ventured out of the cocoon in search of a little variety. The triplets are doing so well that we've taken them into other rooms in our home. They love the Christmas tree that we've been blessed by dear friends, Cathy and Chuck, to enjoy. We certainly wouldn't be able to get out and about without you guys and my mom showing us that we can leave our loves in your caring hand and good things happen. We're blessed in so many ways, and we continue to learn something new every single day! For instance, today another dear couple whom we met at Pres/St. Luke's came over to our home with their son, Thomas, and we learned that for every ounce he drinks of milk an hour of sleep results. We're going to start looking to see if these ratios will work on our little ones.

On weekend evenings if we're clever enough to have the triplet's meals all set and ready to go, we feed, we burp, and we enjoy a show or flick. Off to bed for us immediately after the movie, since we have many nights of sharing the feeding load. On a good night, my dear mother, Pat, takes the first evening shift that starts anytime from eleven to midnight. I take the two to four a.m. shift and Mark, Mom or I will take the early five to six a.m. shift. We then rotate on and off between my mom and I during the rest of the day; until, of course, Mark feeds the little ones with a little help some times at 7 or 8 o'clock at night. We're busy around the clock. We often find ourselves bleary eyed and clumsy; so we ask for help from each other and friends. We continue to welcome your suggestions, visits, support and love. Please do come by if you can when you're feeling healthy! :)

We appreciate your visits and welcome those of you who haven't met the little loves to do so when you're feeling well and rested. Give a call or email us!

We're still on an every three hours until the next feeding session. Speaking of which, they're letting me know it's time now to stop all of this and get back to their 5 a.m. feeding time! Have a great day!

Triplets in Review

Greetings! Mark and I were kindly asked to share snapshots of our love bugs. I wanted to get this out to you all before I got distracted with the next feeding of Marek, Maarten, and Monique. We're having a great time with these three and hope you also see the progress they've been making in their growth!

Come visit these little loves when you can!

Family Photos

A quick look at our family...

family photos

Where did November go?

We've enjoyed our family visits over Thanksgiving and are now welcoming in December. We apologize for so little activity on the blog; however, we've been overwhelmed as new parents. Thankfully, lots of help and love from friends and family have helped us survive and thrive as new parents. In the past two months that we've been parents, here are a few of our discoveries:

1.) The baby noises don't all deserve emergency responses.
2.) We cannot appreciate you, our friends and family, enough!
3.) Food and sleep are precious commodities that are needed by all...including us.
4.) Bodily functions have never before been such a huge focus.
5.) Swings are extremely useful.
6.) Life outside of our nursery exists.
7.) Friends and family make taking a break a reality.
8.) Date nights/days exist with a lot of help from family and friends.
9.) The crying won't last forever... especially when the milk is warm.
10.) Naps are a necessity.
11.) Communication between loved ones has never been more important.
12.) Burps are definitely worth waiting for!
13.) Nasal aspirators are helpful when a child decides his/her meal isn't palatable.
14.) Teamwork, humility, humor and compassion are critical as parents.
15.) The smiles of our babies make it all worthwhile!

Please don't give up on us if you haven't heard from us in a long while; keep calling, stopping by, or emailing as you should know that we do care about you!
